Plan Z

Hey, ya'll!

First and foremost, I would like to address that this post is specifically for women who believe that sometimes they aren't enough. For those women who feel the pressures of life a little extra sometimes. Men, if you are reading this, you are unbelievably valuable and appreciated. You have such an important role as a man, and although this post is mainly for women, please know that you are just as important, and play an even more important role as our support system.
A couple months ago, I was dared to ask the lord a very specific question. A very bold, important question. I want to dare you to do the same.

I dare you to ask the lord to show you how much he loves you. Through that process, I realized that I saw Him with eyes that were so trained to see artificial beauty. He is so witty, guys. He is so funny and gentle. He is so kind, but authoritative. So creative, yet not reserved or held back by boundaries. He is enjoyable... I love spending time with Him. Everywhere I looked, He showed something new about Himself. I saw beauty in places that beauty was not often found, I saw His grace when I fell short, and I saw his sense of humor in His creation. Oh, how much He loves you. Open your heart and enjoy spending time with this being of embodied strength and authority.

"Lord, show me how much you love me."

Even in the winter, even in the strongest of storms or driest of deserts, He will meet you there. Every. Single. Time.

I so often fall short of who I am and sometimes live off of the compliments of others. I lose sight of where I belong and lose confidence in who I was created to be, yet it is so apparent that we, as women, struggle with this so very much. We, including myself, need to lay down the questions that haunt us. Who am I? How much does He love me?

If you need a reminder today,

You are a needle in a haystack of women who give everything they are away and lose themselves in the process.
You are the prize, but not the "everybody is a winner" prize, but rather one that a man has to fight to earn.

I am just at fault for this, as I find myself impatient and not always fully content in this season of singleness. I am using this as a reminder to not only myself, but for you as well to know that you are not forgotten. You are not rejected,. You are worth every ounce of pain on that cross.

Jesus stood there with me, as I was tightly bound in chains and bent over from the weight of my sin, and said "take me instead. I want her forever." Have you ever thought about the fact that God could not stand thinking of eternity without you, so He died to be able to hold you forever? Isn't that worth every ounce of adoration?

Listen to me. God is asking you, in the most gentle way, to sit criss cross applesauce with your hands in your lap. Not metaling in situations in which you do not belong, and not taking steps on uncharted territory. He is so funny, guys, and extremely unpredictable. His unpredictability throws us in a tizzy when we are forced to go from plan a to plan z with so many twists and turns that our need for organization gets thrown out the window. As many times as we are afraid to admit, we all know that need for control, and hate it when it gets snatched away from us.

So often, our plan z is often God's plan a.

Oh, how I wish we could see the big picture. Not focused on the nitty gritty details of our lives, but see the big milestones such as who we will marry, what job we will get, how many kids we will have, and where we will live.

Those small details don't matter in the long run. What matters is that you are encompassed by grace and in love with the grace giver.

Embrace who you are, my dear, because the most precious of gems don't even compare to you. How much greater is His love for you than the birds of the air or the creatures that roam the earth. The giver of life provides for even the smallest of creatures, how much more does your father provide for you as His beloved daughter? Feel encouraged today, because you are known. You are the breath of the creator. You are the embracer of the cherished title "woman". You embody strength, beauty, and dignity.

Be bold, my friend. Come to the end of yourself, get on your knees, and approach His thrown with boldness.

I dare you to ask the Lord how much He loves you.
