I encountered a demon. Actually several... and it was the most terrifying moment of my life. I still remember it like it was yesterday.
2 Samuel 22:3-4
“The God of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from violence. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
Walking into the History Museum, I caught "that feeling." You know that gut feeling I am talking about? The feeling you get when something is off, you are in danger, or something is going on that you are unaware of?
Well, I had that feeling... stronger than ever before.
You see, one of my students, who was on the field trip, had come from a household centered upon witchcraft. Taken away from her mom just weeks before, through tears, quietly admitted that her mom had locked her in the closet several times commanding the demons to possess her. "I know them."
"Miss Phillips, Do you see them?"
I literally about peed my pants.
Pointing to fourteen areas around the room,
"The demons. When you look at them, they scatter and hide. They are afraid of you. The Holy Spirit is standing in front of you... don't you see Him?"
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not fear. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters. He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil. For you are with me; your rod and staff comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
My friend, you are protected. Walk in the truth knowing that the Lord is above you, before you, behind you, and next to you. He is a wall of fire all around.
Put on the armor of God and run in freedom! Satan has no hold on you!
"And I will be to her a wall of fire all around, declares the Lord, and I will be the glory in her midst."
